Emergency Plumbing in Purley
Water coming through a ceiling or no heat in February is not something that waits. Ring us, and we will tell you what to turn off before we set out, what it will cost, and roughly how long we will be.
Covering about five miles from Purley, across the south London and Surrey border. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm.
What is included
- Burst and leaking pipes
- No heating and no hot water
- Leaking cylinders and overflowing tanks
- Boiler lockouts and total heating failure
- Isolating and making safe, then the permanent repair
- Advice on the phone about what to turn off before we arrive
Find these before you need them
The five minutes between a pipe bursting and somebody arriving is where most of the damage happens. Two minutes now saves a ceiling later.
- Your stopcock. Usually under the kitchen sink, sometimes in a downstairs cupboard or under the stairs. Turn it off and on once a year so it does not seize.
- The boiler isolation switch. The fused spur near the boiler. Turning it off stops the boiler firing into a leaking system.
- The gas meter handle. Know which way it turns before you need it in the dark.
- The heating filling loop. If a heating pipe is leaking, closing this stops the system topping itself back up and feeding the leak.
- Your consumer unit. Water and electrics together means power off first, then worry about the water.
- The National Gas Emergency number. 0800 111 999. That call comes before ours if you can smell gas.
What it costs
We give you a fixed price in writing once we have seen the job. These are the things that change the number, so you know what we will be looking at.
- You are told the callout price on the phone before we set off. Never afterwards.
- The first hour is a set rate, then it is charged by the half hour.
- Out of hours and weekend rates are higher, and we say so when you ring rather than putting it on the invoice.
- Parts are charged at cost plus a clearly stated margin, itemised on the invoice.
Ring 07947 909074 and we will give you a realistic range over the phone before anyone comes out.

Recent emergency plumbing customers
Had a rat problem at my elderly nans house & found the bath waste had a huge hole in it. Steve Came round at short notice , replaced it. Clean tidy great job at a very reasonable priceJamie Spencer
Brilliant company - Steve and Charlie are knowledgeable, reliable, friendly and clean and tidy! Rare in most trades. Recommended to all my friends and family and will use again. Thanks for being amazing. Had major building work done and nothing was too much trouble, new boiler, new bathrooms, new water pipes.Frances20101
After being messed around by a different company, we were recommended Go Fix and we couldn't be happier with the work they have done. Friendly, clean and they turned up everyday on time which seems hard to come by these days.Brad
Common questions
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you cannot stop, no heating or hot water in cold weather, a smell of gas, or anything affecting a vulnerable person. If you can isolate it and it is only inconvenient, it is usually cheaper to book a normal appointment.
How quickly can you get to me in an emergency?
Within our standard hours we aim to be with you within a few hours for a genuine emergency in the Purley area. When you ring we will give you a realistic time rather than a comforting one.
What should I do while I wait?
Turn off the stopcock for a water leak. For a heating leak, turn off the boiler and the filling loop. If you can smell gas, turn the gas off at the meter, open the windows, do not touch any electrical switches, and ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before you ring us.
What do you charge for an emergency callout?
A set rate for the first hour, then by the half hour, and you are told the figure on the phone before we set off rather than after we have finished. Out of hours and weekend rates are higher and we say so when you ring.
Do you work out of hours?
Yes. Out of hours callouts available, as listed on the Gas Safe Register. Out of hours rates are higher and we tell you the figure when you ring, before we set off.
I can smell gas, who do I ring?
Ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 first, not us. Turn the gas off at the meter, open windows, do not touch electrical switches and get everyone out. Once it is made safe we can carry out the repair.
