Bathroom Installation in Purley
Most bathroom jobs go wrong in the gaps between trades, where the plumber has finished, the tiler has not started and nobody owns the problem. We run the plumbing, the tiling and the plastering as one job, so there is one firm to ring and one price for the whole thing.
Covering about five miles from Purley, across the south London and Surrey border. Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 5pm.

What goes wrong in bathrooms, and why
Most of the bathroom problems we get called to are not the suite failing. They are the things underneath it that were rushed the first time.
- Silicone going black within a year. Almost always movement, not mould. A tray or a bath that was not supported properly flexes every time someone stands in it and the seal cannot cope.
- A shower that runs hot then cold. Usually the boiler diverter valve or a pressure imbalance rather than the shower itself, which is why we look at the heating side before condemning the mixer.
- Tiles lifting off the wall. Tiled straight onto old paint or onto plaster that was never sealed. It looks fine for a season and then a whole section comes away.
- A smell that will not go away. A waste trap that has been replaced with a fitting that does not hold a water seal, or a shower waste with no fall on it at all.
- Damp on the wall behind the bathroom. A weeping joint in a wall or under a floor, often from the day it was fitted, doing quiet damage for years.
- The extractor that has never worked properly. Ducted into a loft rather than outside, or wired to come on with the light and off again ten seconds later. Both leave the moisture in the room.
What it costs
We give you a fixed price in writing once we have seen the job. These are the things that change the number, so you know what we will be looking at.
- Whether the layout stays where it is. Keeping the soil pipe and the waste runs where they already are is much cheaper than moving the WC to the other wall.
- How much tiling there is. Floor to ceiling on four walls is a different job to a shower enclosure and a splashback.
- The suite and the tiles themselves. We will fit what you buy or supply it ourselves, and we tell you which works out better.
- What is behind the old tiles. Rotten timber and a waste that has been quietly soaking a joist both change the job.
- The quote is one figure for the whole job, in writing, with the day count on it.

How it works
Survey
We come and look at the room, take the measurements and talk through what you want it to do. Storage and where the door swings decide more bathroom layouts than the suite does.
Layout and fixed quote
You get the layout, the day count and one price in writing for the whole job, not a price per trade.
Strip out and first fix
Old suite out, pipework and waste runs set for the new layout, then plastering and making good so the tiler is working to a flat wall.
Tiling and second fix
Tiling, then the suite, taps, shower and screen go in and everything gets tested under pressure before we call it finished.
Handover
We run the shower and every tap, check the falls on the waste, and put the room back to you clean. Anything not right gets put right before we invoice.

Common questions
How long does a bathroom installation take?
A straightforward replacement in the same layout is usually a week to ten working days. Moving the layout, or a room that needs the floor or the walls putting right first, takes longer. You get the day count in writing with the quote, not on the morning we start.
Do you use subcontractors for the tiling and plastering?
No. The plumbing, the tiling and the plastering are all done in house, which is the whole point of running it as one job. There is one firm to ring and nobody standing in the middle of your bathroom blaming the last trade.
Can I supply my own suite and tiles?
Yes. Plenty of customers buy their own and we fit it. Send us the spec before you order so we can check it fits the room and the water pressure, because a bath that is 20mm too long is an expensive thing to find out on strip out day.
Will I be without a bathroom the whole time?
For most of it, yes, if it is your only bathroom. We will tell you honestly at the survey which days the WC is out of action so you can plan around it, and we get the toilet back in use as early in the job as the pipework allows.
Do you move the toilet or the bath to a different wall?
Yes, though it is the single biggest thing that moves the price. The soil pipe has to be re-run with the right fall on it, which can mean lifting boards across the room. We price both layouts at the survey so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.
Do you fit kitchens as well?
Yes. The same side of the business fits bespoke kitchens and does the plastering and rendering, so a kitchen and bathroom done together is one job rather than two. Ask us when you ring.
What happens if you find something behind the old tiles?
We stop and show you before we carry on. Rotten timber, blown plaster and a waste that has been leaking behind the bath are the usual three, and none of them can be quoted until the old suite is out. You get the cost in writing before we do anything about it.
